In 1989 WA8ZWJ and W8JUK collaborated on the first IOOK
Newsletter. It was sent via snail mail as well. The I.O.O.K. Theme
song was introduced in this issue! The words to the theme song appear at
the bottom of this page. Also, one of our more prominent sayings was used
as well "I'd have answered sooner, but, I was asleep" which has been
updated by our Technology Committee as "Code Alpha"!

Below, Chas, KA5UPM, "guards" the keg in the flea
market. N5AAA is "Code Alpha". And the Jim Beam is full
again!

Here is one of the gift certificates that have been kept in
the "History of the IOOK" notebook. It is shown here as a sample
of the types of fun things handed out during the "Gathering of the
Faithful"..

Below, N0BIX awards N5AAA his "Fire Chef" award!

This is the IOOK Wear Order form that accompanied the mailing
in 1989. Yes, the prices have gone up and the offerings have been expanded
quite a bit since then!

The I.O.O.K. Theme Song
Words by KA8SFL and WA8ZWJ - Music by KA8SFL - Original
Recording by KA8SFL
There’s a group that gathers from near and far.
They travel by train, plane and car.
They meet in Dayton, right before May-
They’re the Faithful, the Krazies, the I, double O K.
No meetings, no minutes no annual dues,
We’re International Krazies all dressed in blue.
Our billfolds are full, but by Sunday they’re spent,
But it doesn’t really matter when you’re Vice President!!!
Kbob is our leader through stress and through strife.
He’s stuck being president the rest of his life…twice!
Yeah though we walk through the flea market rows,
We fear no evil when Bob’s on his toes.
And if Bob isn't there, we’re not at a loss,
He’s easily replaced by N0BIX or HOSS!!!
Every Sunday on 7.210
The Faithful Gather each week..
And on some Sunday morning, if you tune in,
You might hear one of them speak!
JUK no doubt will preside over all,
As he bellows out the following roll call;
On FISHER, on FARLEY, on FIELDER, on HARTMAN,
On MAGUIRE, on KARIMI, on BUSWELL, on HORDELL,
On SMITH, on SALEM, on KOCHERSPERGER too!
Who’d we leave?
Oh, we left out you!!!
If you see a blue hat
It means the I.O.O.K.’s near.
If you follow that hat,
You’ll no doubt find beer.
If you talk with this ham
There’s nothing to fear,
For the language of the I., double O., K.’s spoken here!
Some groups last forever,
And others may shine,
But the INTERNATIONAL ORDER OF KRAZIES
Will last a long time!
And Kbob will exclaim,
(though philosophically deep)
“I’d have answered sooner, but I was asleep!!!”
There’s a group that gathers from near and far.
We travel by train, plane and car.
We meet in Dayton, right before May-
We’re the FAITHFUL, the KRAZIES, the I.O.O.K.!!!
Below, KA8BAA and his lady friend are participating in the
"sing-a-long" of the IOOK Theme song!

KC4US and WA8ZWJ visit during ZWJ's trip to Florida in 1989...

N0BIX has come up with some more shots! Way to go
N0BIXie! Top left shows KA8SFL, KA8ZBV and El Presidente, W8JUK. Top
Right shows KA8BAA, Ruth, KA8KME and Judy. Middle left is WA5ZAI, WA1WPI
and W8ED - The bald spot is probably WA8ZWJ. These three pictures were
taken at the Toll House Tavern in Union. Middle right is WA5ZAI, Judy and
WA8ZWJ in the flea market.

Pretty neat cake, eh?
