1986 |

There are currently no records of the flyers or letters sent via snail mail from this 2 year period. Hopefully, Chuck will find some one of these days! There are many factors that might account for that, but, suffice to say that large quantities of barley pop and Jim Beam were probably consumed during this period! As of May, 2004, KE8NK has found a copy of the flyer for 1986! Way to go Don! Thanks a lot! It appears below. Now, we do have a couple of pictures from the "Gathering Of The Faithful" 1986. First, a little background. Chuck and I got an idea about shirts for the group. We also thought it would be funny if everyone was a Vice President - except for one guy. After many back door discussions, we finally decided that KBob, W8JUK, was to be our "faithful" leader. We came up with a design for the logo and had it set up with one of the local t-shirt shops. They printed up 25 shirts with "Vice Pres." on the front. We had a special patch made to cover the "Vice Pres." that had "President" on it. KBob and I were set up in the flea market together and I sold t-shirts out of my van all day that Friday. Friday evening, when the gang arrived at the "Gathering", we were all wearing our new shirts except KBob - who knew nothing about them! The first picture below shows KBob's expression when he realized that everyone had a shirt but him! Of course you can imagine how surprised he was to find out that his said "President"!

The following shots are from the Bob Fisher, N0BIX, archives! Many thanks to Bob for his efforts in digging these up and identifying them!
