Breakfast this morning was at Cracker Barrel!
We had a pretty good turn out, especially when you consider
that many folks went home yesterday!

L-R Jan, John, Charlie, John, Bob and Jean

L-R Chas, Dave, Tom and Debbie

Several more folks left town after breakfast. There
will be more breakfast photos once Bob and Keith have a chance to get files
transferred.
OK - Bob and Jean's photos have been transferred and they have been added above
and below!

Keith went back to the motel and spent the day pretty much
in this position working on photos for the web page.

Bob and Jean headed towards the Grand Canyon. Here are some shots...

Leaving Yuma...

As you can see, the Grand Canyon was kind of fogged in!
Meanwhile, back in Yuma...
Dinner this evening was at Tacos Mi Rancho! We had quite a nice turn out!
Getting there was a real challenge. Keith did not remember the address of the place and Jack was not answering his cell phone. Plus, the address the GPS's wanted to take us to was a new second restaurant by a similar name owned by the same folks a couple of miles away! However, if we had gone there we would have had no way to contact Jack and BJ! 146.415 saved the day! UGH! What a pain!
L-R Hank - KD7SUE, Dave - K7DRM, Tom - W3TOM, Debbie -
KA3VNF

Hank - KD7SUE is Jack - KC7DUU's brother.
Here are BJ - KD7BWH and Hank - KD7SUE!

L-R David, Claretta, John - N5AAA, Jan - KA9VQS, Jack -
KC7DUU, Keith - WA8ZWJ, Tom - W3TOM

David and Claretta are friends of John and Jan's from California who came
over to visit for the day!
They are the folks that John and Jan used to meet to play in the desert.
Tacos Mi Rancho

BJ shared a couple of items of trivia about the hamfest. There were over 130 campers. There were over 100 tailgaters.
She felt that the hamfest was very successful! :-)
Keith went back to the hotel and worked on the group picture since he had put that off until last. Once that was ready then he posted the web page on the Internet!
Bob and Jean continued east heading towards home today...

Now, here are some shots from Keith's trip east...
It was nearly 60 this morning when Keith left Yuma and headed east. The further east he got the cooler it got.
It was down to around freezing as he came through El Paso.
As he got east of Van horn he could see where some kind of precipitation or fog had frozen on the plants.
The good news is, the roads we basically dry!

Dinner tonight was at K-BOB's Steakhouse in Fort Stockton.

Tonight's over night is at Fort Stockton as well! Eleven hours on the road today!
Bob washed his car today after arriving home last night...

Keith left Fort Stockton this morning. It was cold
and the frosty deposit on the foliage was still around but the roads were dry.

This kind of scenery went on for hundreds of miles between
yesterday and today!

Here's a look at some distant fog.

This restaurant is in Menard, Texas. It has changed
owners and name since last year, but the breakfast burrito Keith had this
morning was a dandy!

Once Keith got north of Brady there were places with no frost and then it would return.
It finally disappeared altogether north of McGregor -
about 14 miles south of Hoss and Margareth's place.

Keith has arrived at The Lazy K Ranch and it is about 33
degrees.

The gals at the Bunkhouse BBQ this evening!

Hoss and Margareth!

For those of you who haven't heard, a few days ago Hoss had a blood vessel
break in his left eye and he is bruised. It will take a while for this to
heal.
At 6:45 this morning we were awakened to the light and sounds of a thunderstorm. It didn't last long. Then about ten minutes later we saw that there was a light layer of what appeared to be snow. However, when Keith stepped outside, it was clearly sleet falling. You could feel it and hear it.
A little after 7 this AM the sleet is falling...

Looking toward the front gate...

Margareth and Trooper went out to enjoy the snow while it
was here...

It would appear as though a Road Runner has run across the
driveway!

Before too long it switched over to only snow. Here it is going on 9AM and it appears that the snow is slowing down big time.
The forecast for this afternoon is for it to clear off and get up to around 50. We shall see what we shall see.
OK! It is a little after 1 PM and we are up into the
low 40's. What a difference!

This afternoon Keith picked up Ron - AA5RT and we went to
Troy, Texas to pick up Keith's mobile amplifier.

Here are Toby - N5SIM, who is headed out for a service
call, and Ron - AA5RT.

The amplifier worked just fine on Toby's work bench. However, it does not work in the van. UGH!
Needless to say, Ron and Keith checked everything they could think of and everything appears to be done properly.
We are totally at a loss why it won't work!
It's now about 5:30 PM and we got up to 55 this
afternoon. The snow is all gone!

Chilly morning...here's the sun coming up during Keith's
walk!

The only critters seen during the morning walk were these
three deer.

Dinner this evening was at the Outback In Waco!
Many thanks to Hoss and Margareth for their splendid HOSSpitality at the Lazy K Ranch!
Keith left the Lazy K Ranch this morning. He headed north to meet some of the guys for lunch in Oklahoma City.
Here's a shot of the state line.

There were snow flurries the whole trip and there was some light snow
sticking to the grass but, at worse, the roads were wet.
Here's Stan - N5JFQ showing off his Thunder banner!

Here's Stand's XYL, Liz.

Joe has arrived! L-R Liz, Joe - WA5FLT, Emily, Stan -
N5JFQ

Then the guys headed out for lunch.
Here's a shot of Ann's that Stan sent.

Here's what it looked like today. Yep, once upon a
time long long ago it used to be a gas station right there on Rt. 66.

Aaron - AD5JK has joined us! Neat old police
car! Hmm, all the guys standing there are/were law enforcement!

Three cops standing by an OLD cop car!
Larry - W5NZS was already inside saving us a table.

One of the lunch specials was chicken fried steak!
Some sacrifices must be made! Oh, yes! It also included a salad!

Delicious!
Lots of neat memorabilia at this place that really takes
you back if you are old enough!

After lunch Keith headed towards Stillwater, Oklahoma where Jim - W5JCS is a bit under the weather.
Jim catches Keith pulling in the driveway.

Jim says "Bring in your stuff!"

Here's Jim's mom, Carolyn! Great gal!

Here's Jim - W5JCS at one of his computer/ham stations

Jim frequently listens to his old Zenith Transoceanic that
he rebuilt a while back.

After dinner Keith presented Jim and Carolyn a box of
candy.

You know the doom and gloom forecasting...the white death is coming! We all should have gone to the grocery and emptied the shelves today!
Jim and Keith and a dandy visit into the late night...er...a...early morning!
Jim and Keith visited late into the night. This morning things are a bit slow getting started!
Breakfast this morning was biscuits that Carolyn made from scratch! Mmm Mmm!
It has snowed some more overnight.

It looks like about an inch of new snow.

Jim - W5JCS and Carolyn's place...

If you look carefully you can still see the tracks the van made coming into
the driveway yesterday.
Looking up the street...

Look at the center bottom of this shot and see the small
yellow sign.

The lawn was recently treated and the sign asks that you
stay off the lawn until it dries!

Hmm, it may be a while before the lawn is dry now...
Jim got up a little before noon and took a shower. Then he declined to eat lunch and went back to bed.
I am going to guess that the pizza dinner for this evening has been canceled!
Hmm, a good fairy must have shoveled the driveway while Jim
was sleeping!

Jim is finally out of bed! He received this new hat
in the mail today!

Here's a selfie of Jim and Keith

Jim took this shot of Keith...

Jim and his mother Carolyn!

Carolyn took this shot of Keith and Jim!

Since this evening's Ham Radio Pizza Dinner was canceled, Tad and Keith decided to meet for dinner.
Tad - KC5DPT and Keith - WA8ZWJ

Tad - KC5DPT and Jim - W5JCS

Tad and Keith ready for dinner...

Tad and Linda ready for dinner too!

As always, we had a wonderful visit and managed to get All fed Up! :-)
Many thanks to Jim and Carolyn for the great HOSSpitality!
This morning Keith left Stillwater, Oklahoma and headed towards Missouri.
While talking on the local repeater, Jim asked what the
roads were like. Here's your answer Jim! Not bad. Wet but not
slick.

On the way to Tulsa traffic was stopped. There was an
accident. The road was not slick, however.

Two wreckers left while we were waiting but they were too far ahead to see
what kind of vehicles they were.
While waiting for about 20 minutes for the accident to be
cleared, this was what it looked like out the side window.

Hmm, camper headed the wrong way. Obviously something
serious must have happened!

Ah, the show me state!

Here the road to Bob and Sue's place. That is their
farm on the right.

Trenton was here clearing the snow off the deck and ramp.

Bob and Sue's place with about 2 or 3 inches of new snow.

Bob and Sue arrived about 30 minutes later. Here's
Bob!

Sue declined to have her photo taken!
Here are Lara, Landon and Catie!

Catie is in Nana and Papa's new hot tub! It is 32
degrees outside the tub and the water is at 104 degrees!

Catie...

Landon and Catie...

Bob clearing some of the snow from their parking spaces...

Dinner this evening was at the Iguana Azul in Nevada.
(that means blue iguana)

GREAT food! We managed to get all fed up!
Here's a shot Jim sent today. It got warm enough in
Stillwater that the sun cleaned almost all the snow off his car!

Good morning! Here's a neat plate collection on the
wall in the bedroom where Keith is sleeping...

Here are some poor close ups...:-(

Bob and Keith ran errands. Then they stopped by Bob's
brother Ron and his wife Janet's place.

Ronnie...

Janet

We had a dandy visit! It was good to see Ronnie and Janet!
Lunch today was at the 54 Cafe in Nevada.

Great lunch!
Someone has dressed up the pump on top of the irrigation
well that Bob and Lincoln put in about a year ago.

As you drive down the road it looks like someone is standing there...
Too funny!

A poor shot some of the irrigation equipment that was added
last year.

The irrigation equipment can be moved from field to
field. The water is piped from the pump to the center of the field and
then connected to the sprayer.

Here we are back at Bob and Sue's!

Dinner this evening was pork chops cooked in! Delicious!
After dinner Keith and Bob played some cribbage!

The fun continues...
Keith took this shot this morning. It is in his
bedroom. He thought it was maybe a dugout canoe. Bob says it
actually is a huge bread bowl!

Sue says it is a German bread bowl!
We headed to Springfield, Missouri today. After
making a stop at a forklift dealership, we went to lunch at Lambert's, Home Of
The Hand Throwed Rolls!

Bob in front of the entrance to Lambert's.

We were no sooner seated than they brought us some fresh
fried okra! Mmm Mmm!

Hand Throwed Rolls!

Hand Throwed Rolls!

In addition to the fried okra and the rolls they also brought around molasses, macaroni
and tomatoes, black eyed peas
and fried taters in addition to our lunches and the side dishes that
came with them!
Yes, we got all fed up!
Yep! It may have been overcast, but it got up to 51 today and the snow
is gone except where it was piled up!

After lunch we headed to the Bass Pro Shop!

There are lots of neat displays!

This one is for Richard Pipe and Ron Troutman!

Ain't it the truth?

Lara's kids were here this evening. Homework and other visiting were the order of the evening.
Nana fixed a nice dinner for the kids and Bob and Keith were still stuffed from their Lambert's lunch!
It is really cold this morning! 20 degrees with a wind chill of about 8. Brrr!
The guys went into Nevada and ran some errands.
Here's another look at one of the irrigation rigs. It
also shows they we got a trace of snow overnight rather than the forecast one to
two inches!

Irrigation rig from another angle...

Lincoln and Trin's place in the background...
Lunch today was in Nevada at the all you can eat Chinese buffet. Yep, all fed up again!
Bob and Sue's mailbox! It is a LOT larger than it
looks here!

Hmm, Bob says it is time for a nap!
This evening Keith finally got to see Lincoln and Trin and a couple of the boys! They came over for an evening visit!
L-R Cael, Lincoln, Caleb, Trin

Second shot...Caleb's eyes are closed!
Guess Keith needed
N0BIX's fancy camera that would take 10 shots so he could choose one with eyes
open and faces towards the camera!

It's too bad that Keith did not get to see Cody.
I think this says it all!

It was great seeing Lincoln, Trin and the boys!
Tomorrow morning Keith heads towards Dayton.
Many thanks to Bob and Sue for their wonderful HOSSpitality!
Keith left Bob and Sue's about 6:30 this morning.
Here are some shots of the St. Louis Arch as Keith passed by on his way east...

It is a little after 11AM and Bob - N0BIX gets a photo of
Keith parking the van as he arrives for lunch!

Hi Bob! Hi Y'all!

Here's a hot of Bob after he took his shot! He says
"Hurry up! It's cold out here!"

Jean snaps a shot of Bob and Keith...

Jean and Bob! The laptop is getting ready to copy
files for Bob so he can make the Yuma 2015 DVD.

One of the gals at the restaurant took a group shot of
Jean, Bob and Keith.

Lunch is over and the files have been copied! Here is
a parting shot of Jean and Bob.

We had a dandy visit and managed to get all fed up once again!
It is almost 1PM by the time Keith tops up the gas tank and heads east again. Keith loses an hour as he crosses into the eastern time zone.
Except for some slow rush hour traffic in Indianapolis it is an uneventful trip east.
Keith is getting closer to home...

It is a few minutes before 7PM. Yep! They have
gotten more snow in southwest Ohio!

Marian is glad to have Keith home safe and sound!

It has been a wonderful trip! It has been great seeing all the friends and family along the way.
Many thanks to all the photo contributors. They are: Jean, Margareth, N0BIX, NJ6T, W5JCS and WA8ZWJ
Some interesting facts taken from Keith's old GPS...
The van covered 5,360.1 miles during this trip.
The average driving speed was 63.2 MPH.
There were a total of 84 hours 47 minutes and 51 seconds of driving time.
There are a total of 2350 different files in the Yuma 2015
file folder - mostly photos.
The photos are in their original size, plus a reduced size preparing them for
the internet and then also a web size.
The files total 9.54 gigabytes of space!
There are a total of 536 photos in the two Yuma 2015 Trip
pages.
If you have seen them all and read the related comments then you have a high
endurance for web surfing! :-)
It is hard to believe that the Yuma Trip has come to a close. Another Yuma Trip is history!
Thanks again to all who made it a special trip!
Ain't no More to come...
