More Trip Photos From VK5UK

Here are some more photos from Richard, VK5UK's extended trip touring Australia that started back in March of 2008.

In Richard's own words:  "Well, Jo-Anne and I are still traveling this great country of ours and enjoying it immensely.  Just lately something keeps cropping up in our photo's (similar to the now famous beaver), I thought you and the rest of the IOOK gang might find it interesting."

IOOK President KBob is spotted checking the teeth of this huge crocodile.

Here is some information on the huge crocodile....

"This sign further explains the crocodile , hard to believe this size existed!"

Here's a full sized photo of the 28 foot long crocodile replica.

Richard says "This is a wide shot of the crocodile in who's jaws KBob can be seen in the earlier picture.  These photo's were taken in the Queensland town of Normanton."

Richard says "The shot below shows how steep the site is at Bob's Lookout and our rig as it is now with the "tinny" atop the roof.  This photo was taken while crossing a mountain range on the way to Cooktown in Queensland."

Here's KBob in Richard's "tinny".  Must be going fishing?

After looking at photos of Lee and Keith's Salmon fishing, Richard decided to share some fishing photos as well.

He says "Wow, they are some great fish.  I had already dug out a few fish photos of my own to send you.  The picture below is one of the cod fish that we hauled up from 100 meters of water at Broome Western Australia."

"The larger fish is a Barramundi and the smaller one is called a Mangrove Jack, these fish were caught in the Gulf of Carpenteria Northern Territory ."

"The picture below is what is known as Australian Salmon, they are not to good to eat but are great fun to catch from the beach in the surf down in South Australia."

"Keep on fish'n"

 Richard VK5UK..

Many thanks to Richard for sharing these photos of KBob and the fish with the IOOK!  Enjoy your extended trip and we are looking forward to seeing you at HamVention 2010!  73, Keith

The trip continues to go well and today we had cause for celebration as Jo-Anne landed her first ever Barramundi, having hooked and lost several earlier in the trip she was very pleased.  Barramundi is a revered sportfish downunder and are fantastic eating also.  This one was 65 cm long and around 3kg, caught just inside the marina breakwater as it was too rough to go out any further.
