Another Texas Mini Gathering submitted by WA5ZAI

Well, Sorry about delayed report, but I have been "Code Alpha".
On 27 Feb, Ron (AA5RT) and I drove to Dallas Love Field and picked up our honored guests, Lou and Sandi
Pauly. On the way back we stopped at the "infamous" Bunk House Barbecue for brisket
sandwiches. Then we got home and the festivities began.
Throughout the week Margareth fed us like we had never been fed. Also, we took in the "Hog Creek Ice House" (previous location of Wacom Electronics who manufactured repeater duplexers), Bunk House Barbecue and La Fiesta Mexican
Restaurant (Thanks Lou and Sandi). We also made a trip to Corsicana for goodies at the Collins Street Bakery and drove to the metropolis of Malakov, where Sandi and Lou looked at the house they had seen in a magazine.
Lou and I (mostly Lou) worked on some projects including getting the hood on the old Volvo, locked for five years, open; getting Lou a copy of Windows XP Professional from eBay, and
building a 40 and 80 dipole from the aircraft trailing antenna wire I got from Dave Smith (K3CRF) and installing it.
It was quite a chore as we had to use guy wire clamps to secure the wire to the center connector!
Otherwise we just relaxed and visited and of course we ate. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end.
On March 7, Margareth and I drove the Pauly's back to Love field and they departed for home.
All in all it was great to have Sandi and Lou at our QTH. I think that Sandi had an "adequate amount of Blue Bell ice cream and hopefully Lou got some rest from his busy sked at home.
On our sked we have my son's, Ron, wedding in Arizona on April 10th and of course Dayton's IOOK Gathering in May.
Other than those dates, the HOSSienda accepts reservation from the Faithful.
As we say in Texas, Y'ALL COME.
I have attached a few photos for your review.
73, Hoss (WA5ZAI), IOOK Vice President
