Texoma Hamfest 2011

The Ardmore Convention Center at Ardmore Oklahoma. This is a great facility and good location half-way between Dallas/Ft. Worth and Oklahoma City.

Great seeing old friends. Here is Dan - K5FVL from Stillwater, OK and Hoss - WA5ZAI from Valley Mills, Texas. Ardmore is about three hours away for both in different directions.

Joe - WA5FLT, Bob - WA6?, unknown ham, Mac - K2GKK (seated), and his XYL Judy. Mac is selling some of his Hammarlund receivers. 2011 was the 50^th year that Mac and Judy participated in Field Day. Mac is a well known ham in Oklahoma.

The return drive north to Norman and Stillwater through the Arbuckle Mountains of southern Oklahoma. The granite mountains were named for Gen. Matthew Arbuckle (1778–1851), a career soldier who was active in the Indian Territory, several detachments of troops under his command had established an outpost to protect the California road along this route.
