A great time was had by all today, as we celebrated N8ADN's arrival with Carol and Joe.
There was great concern early in the morning as the weather proved frightful overnight, bringing more than 1/2 inch of rain to the area. However, around 7:00 AM the sun made it's appearance over San Diego, providing us with a gorgeous morning and drying the rain out.
John (N5AAA), Jan (KA9VQS),Ted (KF6BFI), and Menchie arrived at 12:45 PM and preparations were initiated. Chuck (N8ADN) made contact with us at 1310 on the local repeater, arriving at the QTH around 1330, making direct comment on the "thing of beauty" rising above the QTH.
Brats, hamburgers, various condiments and salads were enjoyed with a few good beers and lots of chatter.
Then at 1500 (PST) the gang gathered for a wonderful schedule with the IOOK gang on 14.215 Mhz. WA5ZAI, W6KJ, N0BIX, WA8ZWJ and W8TVC joined us for a fine round on the bands, where a good time was had by all.
While here, Joe made the first swim of the year in the pool, enjoying very cool water (the heater is not on), but also having a grand time in the Jacuzzi and telling us it was just FB.
