During the weekend of July 4th, 2004 Bill (KA8ZBW), Bev, Lou (N8KXM) and Sandi drove to the Outer Banks to visit with KBob, W8JUK, President of the IOOK and his wife Rosemary. Of course, upon their arrival the group had to "Beam Up" to properly start the fun and frolic for the weekend. When Bev found out that some of the snap shots being taken would show up on the Internet, she immediately covered her face with a paper sack so she could remain anonymous! Bill, being unaccustomed to lengthy travel, became "Code Alpha" to recharge his "party" batteries!
Since Rosemary and KBob live right beside the Kitty Hawk area where Orville and Wilbur took their initial flight, it was only proper that the gang visit their Memorial.
Then they took a trip to the seashore. What a beautiful site. There were fishermen making a variety of catches. Bottom left shows a Drum Fish that was caught and bottom right shows a Sting Ray.
Below are some miscellaneous snap shots taken in the area. Top left is Bill, KA8ZBW, using his camera "Jack" to steady the telephoto lens! I thought they were beaming up - they must have been "Black Jack'in" up too! Har!
Bob, Jr., WF0E (affectionately known as Woofie) showed up with the family and a real July 4th party ensued!
