(editor's note - the previous record snowfall for a 24 hour period was from The Great Blizzard in 1978! Officially, the new record for the Dayton, Ohio area stands at 16 inches of snowfall in a 24 hour period. As you can see, Lou had around 17 1/2 inches at his place. Local area amounts reported included amounts of 24 inches to 31 inches.)
