N8KXM's Michigan Trip

7/16 - 7/23/05

Lou, N8KXM and Sandi left on Saturday July 16th and headed to Evart, Michigan to spend the night and visit with Big Al, KB8FJB and Lenore, KC8VSA.  After the Sunday morning skeds were complete, Lou and Sandi headed on north to the Farley Flophouse.  Monday afternoon they were joined by Dave, WB8WIQ and Carol, N8CVF in their new camper.  They all then set out to take in the local sights and even found the place where Carol had spent some summers as a child!  Of course, sightseeing is tiresome business, so, Dave was soon captured by the hammock.  The lower left shot shows Lou, Dave and Carol lounging on the dock on Little Platte Lake.

Below:  top left shows a view of Lake Michigan during their sightseeing tour.  The top right shows a look at Lou on the sand dune - it looks like he is taking a leak.  Lou, what did you do?  Next is a shot of the Farley Flophouse and a sunset shot over Little Platte Lake.  Lou sports his Sunfish catch as well as a view of the sunset overlooking Lake Michigan.  Finally, Lou shows off his new IOOK tattoo and his Bass catch!

Finally, here is a shot of Lou and Sandi - it is pretty obvious that they were happy to be in Michigan!

Lou laments over the fact that the time spent in Michigan travels at 2X speed.  He was sorry he did not get to do as many of the activities that he had hoped to include, but, there were just not enough hours in a day!  Lou and Sandi headed home on Saturday, July 23rd after a fast and fun week.
