The IOOK had a contingent attend the Fort Wayne Hamfest this year! Below, you see a portion of the hamfest flyer.

Some of the Michigan contingent met in (appropriately enough) Turkeyville, MI at Turkey Boulevard which is even more appropriate since the Fort Wayne Hamfest takes place the weekend prior to Thanksgiving! Below you see KC8VSA, KB8FJB and W8TVC at the meeting place (KC8PCQ was taking the pictures).
K3CRF and N0BIX met at Fry's Electronic store. Hmm, yet another appropriate place to meet. Check out Dave, K3CRF's new license plate - IOOK VP! Incredible, eh?

Once part of the group assembled at the motel, W8TVC and WA8ZWJ went to the hamfest to drop off the hamfest flea market sales stuff. Of course, Flat KBob was in attendance as well.
The group met in the motel reception area prior to going to dinner. Below you see KC8PCQ and N7LMJ. In the middle row below are W8TVC, KB8FJB, WD8CJD and KC8VSA - then Jean and N0BIX. In the bottom row are KA9VQS, N5AAA and K3CRF!

We had made reservations at the local Applebee's but they somehow forgot to save us a table, so, Mike's (N7LMJ) Kathy came to the rescue and found us another restaurant that could handle our group of 17 at the last minute. We would have had 18, but, Flat KBob was not hungry, so, he decided to skip dinner.
Below you see: N7LMJ, Kathy, Sandi, N8KXM, Jane and KA8SFL. In the middle row are N0BIX, WA8ZWJ, KB8FJB and KC8VSA. Also, K3CRF, KA9VQS and N5AAA with WA8ZWJ behind them. In the bottom row we have KC8PCQ, W8TVC, WD8CJD and Jean. The last shot is a group shot of the "other" table where the rowdy folks sat! Har!

We all then gathered back in the hotel lobby where N0BIX made his presentation. Of course, there was a bit of horse play going on when Big Al and Jimbo decided to give Lou the BIG SQUEEZE!
It seems that during "Summer Camp" in Michigan this summer, N0BIX learned that several of us like our pepper pretty well on certain foods. Well, N0BIX decided to assist us by giving us a more efficient pepper delivery system so that it would not be necessary for us to remove the lid of the pepper shaker to have sufficient pepper on our foods! N0BIXie, you are too much! The shakers are quite nice, and, yes! They really do deliver the pepper!

Below is our Fort Wayne Hamfest 2007 group shot! Left to right are: WA8ZWJ, N0BIX, Jean, Sandi, N8KXM, K3CRF, KC8VSA, KB8FJB, Flat KBob, N7LMJ, KC8PCQ, W8TVC, Kathy, KA9VQS, Jane, N5AAA, WD8CJD and KA8SFL

Glenn, W8AK and his group had their table next to ours again this year. As you may recall, Glenn is a bit camera shy. But, luck would have it that with stealth technology, a photo of him was able to be taken! The flea market was active and every table was full this year. However, they did close the downstairs area, so, the entire hamfest was on the main floor this year. As you will see, a number of IOOK'ers and friends of the IOOK were in attendance!

As is true of most hamfests, you have the Die Hards who are up before dawn and to the hamfest bright and early. Then, there is the other group that comes along at a bit slower pace.

Saturday evening the group met in the lobby reception area for a before dinner visit.

Yup! More eating! This time it was Don Hall's Restaurant by the motel.

After dinner, the group met in the motel reception area to celebrate Big Al and Lenore's Anniversary. This was planned by Bob and Betty. Nicely done!

As you can see, a fun time was had by all!

Sunday at the hamfest had a fair number of empty tables since a lot of the guys only do one day at the hamfest - Glenn and his crew included. Of course, that works to our advantage because we used Glenn's table to expand the IOOK booth! Yes, we saw more IOOK'ers and friends of the IOOK Sunday as well!

As has become one of the traditions for the Fort Wayne Hamfest, we stopped at the Back Forty Junction in Decatur, Indiana for their all-you-can-eat prime rib buffet! As Big Al says, the IOOK travels on it's stomach!
