On Saturday, September 10th WA8ZWJ, WD8CJD, Flat KBob, N8DRM and his family headed North to Findlay, Ohio for the annual hamfest on Sunday. Sunday morning at 6AM found N8DRM and WA8ZWJ having their complimentary breakfast in the motel lobby. By 6:30 they were in their space in the flea market and setting up. To their surprise, Glenn, W8AK and his troupe ended up setting up their booth right behind the IOOK booth! Even though attendance seemed down a bit, sales were good and the IOOK enjoyed another successful outing! It was a beautiful day without a cloud in the sky. Afternoon temperatures reached the mid 80's - delightful! The girls enjoyed a bit more leisure get up and spent the afternoon shopping. The guys met the girls after the hamfest for pizza lunch which has become one of the hamfest traditions.

Keith, WA8ZWJ said "It was great seeing our old friends as well as selling some of our 'jonque'! The most disappointing fact of the hamfest came when we tried to check into the IOOK 40 meter net. My screwdriver antenna failed to work properly. Glenn, W8AK did not have his 40 meter resonator. Stoney, WB8JIM, had his HF set up in his mini van but we could not hear any activity on 40 meters. I hope I get an excused absence!"
The Findlay Hamfest has been on the annual calendar of must attend events for many years. Even WB0W was there with his air conditioned sales trailer. If you are looking for a great hamfest to attend, put this one on your calendar for next year.
