The first Saturday of November is the traditional date for the Enid Oklahoma Hamfest. It is a great, somewhat small, event. However, it is well attended drawing people from Kansas, Texas and Oklahoma. This year the IOOK'ers attending were Stan - N5JFQ, Joe - WA5FLT, Neal - N5KCO, and Jim - W5JCS. The flea market offerings were very good!

The $2 ticket not only gains admittance but free donuts and coffee in the morning and a hot dog lunch near noon. The event is well attended with an outstanding flea market and various meetings.

I rode with Stan Van Nort - N5JFQ and his grandson Nate. They drove over from Tulsa picking me up in Stillwater for the hour drive to Enid.

We had a very good Mexican lunch and then visited a pastry shop which Stan's XYL Liz recommended. The cookies were outstanding! We wish we had bought more. :-)

The Enid Hamfest marks the end of the Oklahoma Hamfest season for 2013 which ends on a high note.

Stan says the place is Katy's Pantry and the sugar cookies are delicious.
Sounds to me like Grandpa is becoming "The Cookie Monster!"
Stan says: "I'll nominate Joe Garland for the new award of going to the most Hamfests in 2013. He has probably made 10 or 12 so far."
