N8DRM and WA8ZWJ gathered their hamfest goodies together and headed north from Dayton to Cleveland on Saturday, September 24th for the Cleveland Hamfest the next day. After checking into the motel and then a fine dinner at a nearby steakhouse, the two settled in for rest at the motel. Sunday morning at 5:25 found them having breakfast at a restaurant near the motel and by shortly after 6AM they were in the flea market.
"I did really well selling stuff" said Dave, N8DRM. "I also sold a bunch of stuff for N9PRC" he added. Keith, WA8ZWJ stated that he sold a few items and made it worthwhile making the trip but most of the stuff was small tickets items. However, as we all know, small ticket items add up too! Of course, Dave, in his prosperous manner managed to purchase an ht and a mobile rig, clean them up a bit, put them on the table and then sold them for a profit as well! "Dave seems to have the 'Midas' touch - he always seems to be able to make money on anything he buys!" said Zed W. Jay.
The hamfest was well attended and will be a strong consideration for future years on the hamfest calendar.
