Texas Mini Gathering

Well, it has come and gone!!

Margareth and I left the Hossienda in Sunday morning at 11:45 local time and arrived at K0JIH QTH in San Antonio around 2:46 PM.  Bert, Evelyn, Margareth and I enjoyed a very nice visit in the PM and left the QTH to meet with the rest of the IOOK for an evening repast.  Charlie (NN3V) and a colleague (I believe his name was Bill, but if I am wrong I blame "senior moment") got in touch with us upon arriving at their motel and dinner arrangements were made.

We met at La Posada Restaurant around 6 PM. Ken (WA5QZI) and his lady (Sylvia) joined the group for a fine dinner of Mexican dinner and proper libations.  Our CEO and Chairman of the Board for IOOK Technology Center, as you will notice in the attached photos, was the only person properly attired for the occasion.  Also, Bill, Charlie's friend is a prospective IOOK VP, being able to copy code at above 25-30 WPM and soon taking his amateur radio test.  We will welcome him in real IOOK way as soon as he is qualified to join our "august" unorganization!

After leaving the eatery everyone went back on their merry ways, and we enjoyed the Walker hospitality by spending the night at their beautiful home.  On Monday morning we were served a great breakfast by Lady Evelyn.  Then, after visiting for a while we left San Antonio around 12:30 PM.  On the way we stopped at a couple of places for Margareth do some antique shopping and had a late after noon lunch/dinner at Schoeff's barbecue cafe in Belton.

We arrived at the Hossienda about 5:30 PM.  All in all this was a great trip and a super gathering.  Many thanks to Bert for arranging it and of course it was great to see Ken, Sylvia, Charlie and Bill, and enjoy a super evening of fellowship.

Respectfully submitted,

Hoss Karimi (WA5ZAI), VP, IOOK
