Bob captured a rare moment for Keith to have his cell phone
out. I haven't a clue why I had my cell phone out!
We had a fun visit! After all, one of the biggest reasons for us all coming to this hamfest is to visit!

Before long Keith and Randy headed towards the hamfest.
Here's the later breakfast group. Jean, W8TVC,

We like to tease Bob about his 2 breakfasts. We tell him it reminds us of Loyd - K8EI at HamVention!
At the hamfest, the first folks we see are Jim (Stoney) -
WB8JIM, Joe - KD8GIL and Audrey - KC8DTM.
Glenn - W8AK had taken the car out of the arena to the parking lot after dropping stuff off inside.

It was a good thing that Dad had a bunch of crystals in the Novice bands!

It is after 1PM. The hamfest officially closes at 2PM
and we decide to head out for lunch. Yes, all the remaining sales items
are on the cart.
Saying our goodbyes!
The tubs are loaded in the van! Time to head out for
As usual, lunch is in Decatur, IN at the Back 40
Junction! It's about 30 minutes south of the hamfest.
Here's a selfie that Randy took!
Needless to say, we managed to get all fed up! The all-you-can-eat prime rib buffet also had ham, turkey, chicken, fish, brisket, ribs and shrimp in addition to all the assorted side dishes!

It was a fantastic weekend! It was great seeing the gang and getting some quality visiting time in.
Yes, the attendance did seem to be down some this year. Our theory on that was, because of the beautiful weather for mid November, folks chose to stay at home and take care of outdoor chores rather than come to the hamfest. We are hoping that the lack of attendance was not a trend.
We are enthusiastic about the upcoming Yuma Hamfest in February and the Dayton HamVention in May!
Thanks for taking the time to look at our memories of the Fort Wayne Hamfest 2016!
